When the first burial was conducted at Lilydale Lawn Cemetery more than 140 years ago, the cemetery serviced a small group of pioneer communities. Today there are approximately 2000 burials and cremations conducted yearly at nearby Lilydale Memorial Park to meet the needs of the local community.
There are currently no new burial options available at Lilydale Lawn Cemetery. New burial positions are available at nearby Lilydale Memorial Park.
Heritage Walk
Lilydale Lawn Cemetery offers a heritage walk to the public - with 26 signposts through-out the grounds providing information on significant burials and their contributions that have shaped the history of the community. Examples of burial sites include: Dame Nellie Melba, David Mitchell, Ernest Buckmaster and the Sisters of Mercy.

Vehicle access is not available at the cemetery.
Please note there is no staffed office at Lilydale Lawn Cemetery. Enquiries may be directed to the east region office at Lilydale Memorial Park.
