When the first burial was conducted at Lilydale Lawn Cemetery,
more than 140 years ago, the cemetery serviced a small group of
pioneer communities. Today there are approximately 2000 burials and
cremations conducted yearly at nearby Lilydale Memorial Park to
meet the needs of the local community.
Lilydale Lawn Cemetery services include burials and cremated
remains memorials. There is also a Children's Vine of Remembrance
to memorialise young children.

Heritage Walk
Lilydale Lawn Cemetery offers a heritage walk to the public -
with 26 signposts through-out the grounds providing information on
significant burials and their contributions that have shaped the
history of the community. Examples of burial sites include: Dame
Nellie Melba, David Mitchell, Ernest Buckmaster and the Sisters of
Mercy. The walk can be done as a self-guided tour, or the Lilydale
Historical Society runs guided tours of the heritage walk.
