Lin Jong

As part of the One Million Stories Exhibition, the Chinese Museum acknowledges high-achieving Chinese Australian community members who have contributed immensely to education, science, the arts, business, food culture, sport and medicine in contemporary Australian society and culture.


Lin Jong

Born in 1993, Lin Jong is an AFL Football player for the Western Bulldogs. Lin was recruited by the club in 2012, and is the first Australian of East Timorese and Taiwanese descent to play in the AFL. According to the Western Bulldog's website, Lin Jong is a fearless competitor and has forged a reputation as an explosive clearance player since joining their team. Jong has won two Footscray Bulldogs VFL Premiership Side Club Awards (2014, 2016) and a Norm Goss Medal for Best of Ground in VFL Grand Final (2016).
