World Kindness Day 2020

Random acts of kindness can have an incredible effect on your life and others. To mark World Kindness Day on 13 November 2020, we have listed a few simple 'acts of kindness' that you can treat yourself and others to.

Surround yourself in nature

Taking time away from social media and technology and being surrounded by greenery can have incredible benefits on your mental health and wellbeing. So enjoy taking some self-care time out in nature by going on a walk, sitting in a park or going on a hike. Share the kindness further by smiling or saying hello to people that pass by.

Buy flowers

Flowers are a great way of saying 'I love you', 'I care for you' or 'I am thinking of you'. So why not treat yourself or others to the uplifting nature of flowers that can be displayed and admired in their homes.

Send a thoughtful message

Take some time to brighten up someone else's day with a phone call, text message, or a handwritten note to let them know you’re thinking of them. It's a quick and easy way you can put a smile on someone’s face and let them know that you are thinking of them.

Pay it forward

Paying it forward is a great concept to surprise and delight someone in wonderful, unexpected ways. Many cafes and restaurants even offer this formal concept where you can buy an extra coffee or an extra meal for another deserving patron who may not be able to afford it.

Other ways in which you can pay it forward include cooking extra food and sharing it with other people, volunteering your time to causes that you are passionate about, giving someone a hug or donating books to a retirement village that you no longer want to read.
