Private mausolea

Overview

A number of our cemeteries and memorial parks have a dedicated precinct set aside for the establishment of private family mausolea.

Families wishing to establish their own mausoleum may select a location and engage an architect, builder and/or specialist stonemason to create a unique, custom private mausoleum for their immediate or extended family.

These impressive structures provide an opportunity for families to select the finest quality stone, fixtures and finishes, and to engage the finest craftspeople to make their vision come to life. The existing private mausolea at our cemeteries and memorial parks feature impressive ironwork, statuary, sculpture, heraldic elements, stained glass and religious iconography.

Private alcoves in public mausolea

A private family alcove within the Preston Mausoleum offers all the prestige and privacy of a standalone private mausoleum at a fraction of the cost. Set within the grand public mausoleum, these exclusive, gated wings provide an opportunity for families to personalise their own private sanctuaries for generations to come. The purchase price includes up to $50,000 of decoration, allowing families to personalise by choosing their own statuary, ornamentation and furniture. Set within the public mausoleum, the cost of maintaining and managing these alcoves is included in the purchase price, with no ongoing maintenance fees.
