About Fawkner Memorial Park Community Tree Planting - National Tree Day 2025
Join us for our second annual Community Tree Planting Day at Fawkner Memorial Park, in celebration of National Tree Day 2025!
This special event brings together neighbours and the local community across Melbourne's north for tree planting activities alongside the beautiful Merlynston Creek in Fawkner Memorial Park. Come along to help care for the park's green life while connecting with us and the local community.
Gardeners of all ages and skill levels are welcome, including kids! We just ask that any children attending are supervised by a parent or caretaker for the duration of the event.
Complimentary coffee and refreshments will be provided.
All attendees will also get to take home a native plant to help increase the biodiversity of their own green spaces.
When: 10am-1pm, Sunday 27 July 2025
Where: Seventh Avenue, Fawkner Memorial Park (1187 Sydney Road, Fawkner)
What to bring: Please dress for gardening outdoors in warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Some gardening items will be provided, but if you have a pair of gardening gloves or your own tools, please bring them along too.
Cost: Free!

How to get there
From Sydney Road: Enter Fawkner Memorial Park via the Sydney Road entrance and cross the train line. At the main roundabout, turn right onto Seventh Avenue (the fifth exit) and continue straight. The event will be ahead on this road up on the left.
From Box Forest Road: Enter Fawkner Memorial Park via the Box Forrest Road entrance. You'll be entering on Seventh Avenue, so continue straight and the event will be ahead on your right.
From Fawkner Train Station: Head north along the bike path until you enter Fawkner Memorial Park near the train overpass. At the main roundabout, continue north along Seventh Avenue (the fifth exit on the roundabout) until you reach the community event site on your left-hand side. This is approximately a 13-minute walk or 3-minute bike ride from Fawkner Station.

This community event is proudly delivered in partnership with Fawkner SES volunteers, who will join us on the day.
