On Wednesday 18 October, an emergency response exercise will be conducted near Crematorium Drive at Fawkner Memorial Park to familiarise GMCT staff and emergency service agencies with response procedures in the event of a grave collapse.
To enable the exercise, the section of Crematorium Drive marked on the map below will be closed from 7.30am to approximately 1pm. Red triangles on the map show the location of roadblocks. The area in which the drill will take place is outlined in red.
The exercise will require the presence of Victoria Police, Fire Rescue Victoria, Victoria State Emergency Service and Ambulance Victoria onsite.
To avoid disruption, there won't be any services held in the affected area during this time. If you're planning to visit, please be aware and plan your trip accordingly.
