Work is underway to reconstruct Templestowe Cemetery’s fence bordering Church Street. The original fence was removed due to safety concerns. We are now rebuilding it to restore the cemetery boundary and improve the site.
Start Date: 21 January 2026
Duration: Approximately 9 weeks (weather permitting)
During this time:
Temporary fencing will remain in place.
Traffic management measures will be implemented.
Church Road will remain open, however an alternative pedestrian pathway will be provided and the dedicated left-turn lane into the cemetery will be temporarily closed.
We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we’ve worked to ensure the site is safe and all approvals are in place before starting.
We’re looking forward to restoring the cemetery wall to an improved state.
