Last week, we proudly launched our new Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan as part of National Reconciliation Week 2026.
The launch brought together Elders, community members and GMCT staff for songs, yarns and a moment to reflect — including the unveiling of Home, a stunning piece by Wadawurrung Bagurrk artist Alisha Fagan that now graces the cover of our new RAP.
Alisha describes her work as sharing "the journey of life, spirit and returning home". It’s a theme that speaks directly to the work we do every day across our 21 cemeteries and memorial parks.
This year's reconciliation theme is All In, a reminder that reconciliation is everyone's responsibility. Many of the places we care for hold profound cultural and spiritual significance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and our RAP reflects our ongoing commitment to listening, learning and walking alongside community.
We're grateful to Uncle Kutcha Edwards, Jason Tamiru, Jay Jerome, Candice Lorrae, Cathy Austin and the many Elders and community members who continue to share their knowledge and shape the way we care for Country.
