Official opening of the Gallery of the Saints Mausoleum – Stage 4 at Keilor Cemetery

We were pleased to hold the official opening of Stage 4 of the Gallery of the Saints Mausoleum on Friday 25 March.

It was a beautiful Melbourne autumn day for our event. To ensure we could host a COVID safe event, we held two sessions at 10am–12pm and 2–4pm.

Both events were well attended by our families who had purchased crypts, key people from cemetery trusts, the Department of Health, GMCT Trust Members, GMCT Community Advisory Committee members, the Keilor Historical Society, project suppliers including architects and construction firms, and GMCT people.

The morning event saw Parliamentary Secretary for Health Mr Steve McGhie MP and our Trust Chair, Michael Doery cut the ribbon. At the afternoon event, that honour went to our Trust Chair and Interim CEO, Andrew Eriksen. The chair for both events was James Reid (Chief Future Built Environment Officer).

Monsignor Charles Portelli, Parish Priest of St Mary of the Assumption Parish blessed the new addition to the mausoleum and crypts for families who had requested this service.
