There are many historically significant graves at Lilydale Lawn Cemetery, ranging in date from 1878 to 1968, but those of note are the historically and architecturally important Dame Nellie Melba memorial, and the memorial of her father, David Mitchell.
Many others are well known in the Australian context; Jessie Vasey who founded the War Widows Guild, Ernest Buckmaster and William Blamire Young, both artists, and Victor Deschamps the vigneron whose vineyards covered much of the original township of Lilydale.
