To assist families and friends who are unable to personally attend a funeral, GMCT offers a video recording and live streaming service.
Your personal information (including images and video footage of you) may be collected by The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT) during services conducted within GMCT locations. This information is collected, used and disclosed in accordance with GMCT's Privacy Policy (available from https://www.gmct.com.au/privacy).
GMCT may use and disclose your personal information in order to provide funeral services, including service recordings and internet streaming at funerals for the purpose of remote viewing or otherwise in accordance with GMCT's Privacy Policy. GMCT may share your information with third parties such as relatives and/or friends of deceased persons and service providers including those delivering the streaming services. Your information may also be disclosed to relatives and/or friends of deceased persons who reside overseas.
If you do not want your personal information collected, you may seek alternative arrangements with the Funeral Director or chapel attendant.
GMCT's Privacy Policy contains information about how you may access and request correction of your personal information held by GMCT or make a complaint about the handling of your personal information, and provides information about how a complaint will be dealt with by GMCT.
Terms and Conditions of Recording and Livestreaming
While GMCT endeavours to deliver the live streaming and/or recording of funeral services in accordance with your booking, there are risks associated with these services which may result in GMCT being unable to provide the services, of which you should be aware. These risks may include technical difficulties, power outages, information technology or equipment failures and other associated risks, resulting in the live streaming and/or recording being disrupted or undelivered.
If your booking includes live streaming and/or recording of a funeral services and, due to one or more of the abovementioned risks or an inadvertent act or omission of GMCT's personnel or contractors, GMCT is unable to provide you with either a live stream of the funeral service and/or the recording of the funeral service that you have purchased, then GMCT will provide you with a refund of the service fee applicable to the purchase of the live streaming/recording services. However, you agree that you will not be entitled to any other refund, discount or damages in respect of GMCT's inability to provide those services.
